At National Cancer Foundation (NCF) we work to combat cancer in the community. We do this by providing information about awareness and prevention, and by helping people already affected by cancer.
And the biggest way we help them?
Through our amazing Patient Accommodation Program.
We’re a charitable organisation, and thanks to endless fundraising and generous donations, gifts and bequests, we’ve managed to buy or rent a number of houses in many of Australia’s capital cities (and we’re not done yet!).
These homes serve a very special purpose: to accommodate people from rural and regional Australia who need to travel far from home in order to receive specialist cancer treatment.
The NCF Patient Accommodation Program helps keep families together in safe, comfortable and family-friendly housing near treatment hospitals... and at no cost to the family. With short-term rental properties costing anywhere between $1,000 and $4,000 per week for a family of four, it’s a weight off your shoulders at a time you just need to be concentrating on getting better, surrounded by your loved ones.
